YOGYAKARTA - Five former Jokowi ministers became President Prabowo Subianto's special advisers. The inauguration of the president's special adviser was held at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Tuesday (22/10/2024). In addition to being a special adviser to the president, Prabowo also inaugurated the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (MA), special presidential envoy, and special presidential staff.

Prabowo also took part in inaugurating the leadership of the Hajj Organizing Body, the Agency for the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction, the Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency, the Halal Product Guarantee Administration, and the Special Development and Investigation Control Agency. Launching a live broadcast from the Presidential Secretariat's Youtube, Tuesday, the list of former Jokowi ministers who were sworn in as President Prabowo's special advisers:

Old position: Minister of Research and Technology as well as Head of the National Innovation Research Agency (BRIN) in 2019-2021.

New position: Special Advisor to the President for Economic Affairs.

Old position: Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture in 2019-2024.

New position: Special Advisor to the President for Hajj affairs.

Old position: Minister of Health in 2019-2020.

New position: Special Advisor to the President for National Health Affairs.

Old position: Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment in 2019-2024.

New position: Special Advisor to the President for Investment Affairs.

Old position: Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs in 2016-2019.

New positions: Special Advisor to the President for Political and Security Affairs.

In addition to the five former Jokowi ministers mentioned above, Prabowo appointed Purnomo Yusgiantoro as the Presidential Special Advisor for Energy Affairs.

In carrying out his duties, the president's special adviser is directly responsible to the president. However, the report on the implementation of the duties of the special adviser to the president is coordinated by the Cabinet Secretary. Meanwhile, Article (3) stipulates that the appointment and field of duties of the special adviser to the president is determined by the president's decision.

The president's special advisers can come from civil servants or non-civil servants. During his duties, the president's special adviser received administrative support from the Cabinet Secretariat and received a maximum of two assistants and each assistant was assisted by at most two assistant assistants.

Assistant assistants who assist the presidential special advisory assistant are supported by staff assisted from the Cabinet Secretariat and/or the Ministry of State Secretariat.
