Held The First Meeting After Being Inaugurated, Erick Thohir Discussed The Role Of SOEs In Realizing Food-Energy Self-Sufficiency

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir stepped on the gas to hold his inaugural meeting after being re-inducted as minister.

Erick gathered deputy ministers to expert staff of the Ministry of SOEs.

For your information, Erick is trusted to lead the Ministry of SOEs for the period 2024-2029 in the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka government's Red and White Cabinet.

Erick has three deputy ministers, they are Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, Dony Oskaria and Aminuddin Ma'ruf.

"After being inaugurated, today I chaired the first Leadership Meeting with the Deputy Minister, Secretary to the Minister, Deputy, and Expert Staff of the Ministry of SOEs," Erick wrote as quoted from Instagram @erickthohir, Tuesday, October 22.

Erick said at the meeting, his party focused on discussing the role of SOEs in carrying out the vision and assignment of Prabowo Subianto regarding food and energy self-sufficiency.

"We focus on how SOEs carry out their vision and assignment from President Prabowo Subianto, especially in realizing the nation's independence through food and energy self-sufficiency," he said.

In addition, Erick also emphasized that SOEs must be a bulwark of the national economy.

He said his party was ready to work hard for Indonesia.

"BUMN will also continue to be the bulwark of the national economy that works to have the best economic impact on society. We are ready to work hard for Indonesia," wrote Erick again.

Previously reported, Erick Thohir admitted that he was ready to carry out the mandate given by President Prabowo Subianto. Erick again won the trust to head the Ministry of SOEs for the period 2024-2029.

As an assistant to the president, Erick ensured that SOEs were ready to support President Prabowo Subianto's vision. Therefore, he asked SOEs to work even harder than before.

"The important thing is that when inaugurated there is a mandate that is entrusted to be loyal to the president and also ensure that the program can run well for his people according to his vision. This means that we at the Ministry of SOEs must work even harder for professionalism and transparency," Erick said when he arrived at the Ministry of SOEs office, Jakarta, Monday, October 21.

Erick also ensured that he would maintain Prabowo's vision by continuing to improve collaboration with the private sector and MSMEs.

Including continuing the SOE downsizing program to the remaining 30 SOEs to increase the effectiveness and competitiveness of SOEs in the future.

"With this open market, the balance occurs, between the private sector, MSMEs and also investment from within and outside the country. This is what we are trying to balance," said Erick.
