Held The Commemoration Of Santri Day In Kaltara

TANJUNG SELOR Head of the People's Welfare Bureau (Kesra) of the North Kalimantan Provincial Government (Kaltara), Rosyit, attended the Santri Day Ceremony which was held at the Al-Khairat Islamic Boarding School.

The ceremony was led by the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of Kaltara Province, Taufik Rahman acting as the ceremony inspector.

"I invite the students to be confident in living life," said Taufiq, Tuesday, October 22.

Taufik also emphasized that Santri Day does not only belong to students, but belongs to all groups of people.

"With the theme Connecting the Juang Merengkuh Future, this year's Commemoration invites all elements of society to knit unity and togetherness," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Kesra Bureau, Rosyit, participated in a series of events including free health checks which were also part of the activity, giving hope to the next generation of the nation.

"We hope that our next generation, apart from being smart in general knowledge, will also explore religion as provision. What we are aiming for is not only humanity, but also leaning towards the afterlife," he said.

Rosyit also emphasized the importance of the role of parents in accompanying children in the midst of the era of globalization and digitalization.

Even though they study at school or Islamic boarding schools, their time is more at home with family. Family is the main key that can prevent negative impacts from the globalization era," he explained.

Rosyit explained that the implementation of Santri Day is rotated every year in various districts/cities in North Kalimantan.

"Last 2023 was held in Tarakan City, and this year in Bulungan Regency. I heard that next year it is likely to be held in Nunukan Regency, but it is still tentative," he added.

In addition to free health ceremonies and checks, this event was also enlivened with bazaars and various other activities involving the community.

National Santri Day is a momentum to remember and appreciate the role of students in the history of the nation's struggle, as well as to strengthen ties of friendship between people.
