Prabowo Issues Presidential Decree On The Arrangement Of Ministry Tasks And Functions

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto issued Presidential Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia (Perpres) Number 139 of 2024 concerning the Arrangement of Tasks and Functions of the Ministry of State of the Red and White Cabinet for the Period of 2024-2029 on October 21, 2024.

In the Presidential Decree, it is stated that the state ministry in the Red and White Cabinet for the period 2024-2029 consists of 48 ministries, as follows:

1. Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs;2. Coordinating Ministry for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections;3. Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs;4. Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture;5. Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development;6. Coordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment;7. Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs;8. Ministry of State Secretariat;9. Ministry of Home Affairs;10. Ministry of Home Affairs;11. Ministry of Defense;12. Ministry of Religion;13. Ministry of Religion;14. Ministry of Human Rights;15. Ministry of Human Rights;15. Ministry of Immigration and Correction;16. Ministry of Finance;17. Ministry of Basic and Medium Education;18. The seven Coordinating Ministries in the Red and White Cabinet will oversee a number of ministries and agencies as follows:

The Coordinating Minister for Political and Security coordinates: a. Ministry of Home Affairs; b. Ministry of Foreign Affairs; c, Ministry of Defense; d. Ministry of Communication and Digital; e. Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia; f. Indonesian National Army; g. Indonesian National Police; andh. other agencies deemed necessary.

"Other agencies as referred to are coordinated by the Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs in terms of carrying out tasks and functions related to issues in the political and security fields," said the Presidential Decree.

The Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections coordinated: a. Ministry of Law; b. Ministry of Human Rights; c. Ministry of Immigration and Corrections; dand. other agencies deemed necessary.

The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs coordinates: a. Ministry of Manpower; b. Ministry of Industry; c. Ministry of Trade; d. Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources; e. Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises;f. Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Agency; g. Ministry of Tourism; dahn. other agencies deemed necessary.

Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture coordinates: a. Ministry of Religion; b. Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education; c. Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology; d. Ministry of Culture; e. Ministry of Health; f. Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection; g. Ministry of Population and Family Development/National Population and Family Planning Agency;h. Ministry of Youth and Sports; dani. other agencies deemed necessary.

The Coordinating Minister for Regional Development coordinates: a. Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency; b. Ministry of Public Works; c. Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas; d. Ministry of Transmigration; e. Ministry of Transportation; Danf. other agencies deemed necessary.

The Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment coordinates: a. Ministry of Social Affairs; b. Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers/Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency; c. Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions; d. Ministry of Cooperatives; e. Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises; f. Ministry of Creative Economy/ Creative Economy Agency; dang. other agencies deemed necessary.

The Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs coordinates: a. Ministry of Agriculture; b. Ministry of Forestry; c. Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries; d. Ministry of Environment/Environmental Control Agency; e. National Food Agency; f. National Nutrition Agency; dang. other agencies deemed necessary.

Through Presidential Decree 139/2024, President Prabowo Subianto also disbanded the Cabinet Secretariat.

"Furthermore, the implementation of tasks and functions from the Cabinet Secretariat is integrated into ministries that carry out government affairs in the field of state secretariat," the Presidential Decree reads.

In the transition provisions, it is stated that all human resources occupying positions in accordance with the nomenclature of their positions within ministries and institutions continue to carry out their duties and functions until they are re-regulated based on the Presidential Decree regarding the organization and work procedures of each ministry and institution.

The arrangement of ministries and institutions as referred to in this Presidential Regulation is completed no later than December 31, 2024.

Presidential Decree Number 139 of 2024 is valid since it was promulgated in Jakarta on October 21, 2024.
