Minister Of Home Affairs Instructs Ribka Haluk To Come Home Once A Month To Handle Papua

JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian instructed Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Ribka Haluk to go home once a month to deal with Papua.

"I gave an assignment to the two of her for Mrs. Ribka Haluk, I asked to handle the Papuan problem, at least once a month back to Papua with the position of deputy minister," Tito said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 22.

Tito said that initially Ribka only managed Central Papua, but now he must coordinate with all acting governors (Pj) in Papua.

Papua currently has six provinces, namely Papua, West Papua, South Papua, Central Papua, Papua Mountains and Southwest Papua.

The last four provinces will be contested from Papua and West Papua Provinces in 2022. This expansion is carried out to manage a large area, as well as improve the welfare of the Papuan people.

"Those who took care of Central Papua now have to coordinate with the six governors of Acting. Among them are all PJ, then the regents and mayors will monitor each other's regional elections there," he explained.

In addition, it also takes care of the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Regional Administration Development (Adwil) which has been vacant since Safrizal Zakaria Ali left.

Tito also asked Ribka to supervise the National Border Management Agency (BNPP), the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) and the Fire Government (Damkar).

President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated Ribka Haluk together with Bima Arya as Deputy Minister of Home Affairs at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday (21/10).

Ribka Haluk was placed at the Ministry of Home Affairs replacing the previous Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, John Wempi Wetipo.
