No Longer Under The Coordinating Ministry For The Economy, The Ministry Of Finance Coordinates Directly To Prabowo

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto has appointed his ranks of ministers and deputy ministers to cooperate with him in the Red and White Cabinet.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu), the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Ministry of ATR/BPN are currently no longer under the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy.

This is based on Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No 139/2024 concerning the Arrangement of Tasks and Functions of the Ministry of State for the Red and White Cabinet for the period 2024-2029.

Whereas previously, these ministries were under the coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy based on Presidential Decree No. 67/2019 concerning the Arrangement of Tasks and Functions of the Ministry of State of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet for the 2019-2024 Period.

As for Article 26 of Presidential Decree No 139/2024 concerning the Implementation of Tasks and Functions of the Ministry of State of the Red and White Cabinet for the period 2024-2029. The Coordinating Ministry for the Economy currently oversees 8 ministries, namely the Ministry of Manpower, the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Agency (BKPM), the Ministry of Tourism, and other agencies deemed necessary.

The changes were due to the list of previously four coordinating ministries in the Jokowi administration being the seven coordinating ministries in the Prabowo government.

Therefore, there is a change in the technical ministry whose coordination is under the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy. This is also in line with the absence of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment.

Responding to this, the Head of the Communication and Information Service Bureau of the Ministry of Finance, Deni Surjantoro, explained that the Ministry of Finance is no longer under the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy and will immediately coordinate with the President.

"Yes, that's right, now it is no longer under the coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Cooperatives but directly under the president," Deni explained in his statement, Tuesday, October 22.

Deni explained that related to the regulations that have been in effect, there will be changes, but he has not been able to provide details regarding the new rules because he has to wait for the latest Presidential Decree.

"The Presidential Regulation is currently being discussed, so we'll wait for it," he said.
