Puan Reveals Work Sector 2 Of The DPR's New Commission: Energy, Law To Human Rights
JAKARTA - DPR Speaker Puan Maharani revealed that partners for the two additional commissions in the DPR will be in charge of energy and legal affairs, reform to Human Rights (HAM). The division of tasks on the new DPR's board (AKD) equipment is adjusted to the ministry in President Prabowo Subianto's cabinet.
The division of tasks for the 2 new commissions in the DPR, namely Commission XII and Commission XIII, was agreed at the Deliberative Body Meeting (Bamus) which is a consultation meeting of the leadership of the DPR with the leaders of factions in the DPR. The Bamus meeting was held after President Prabowo's Cabinet was formed.
"Yes, we just finished a consultation meeting with faction leaders from the eight factions who attended, determined the number of commissions and AKDs, and the number of commission leaders from all existing factions," said Puan after the Bamus Meeting at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday 21 October.
The DPR itself is known to be waiting for the announcement of the nomenclature of ministries in the Prabowo government in the formation of the AKD. This is because the DPR needs to adjust the distribution of partners for each AKD, especially for 2 new commissions formed during the 2024-2029 DPR period as part of the alignment with the Prabowo government ministries/agencies which will become partners of the DPR.
Prabowo is known to have announced and inaugurated his ministers who are members of the Red and White Cabinet. In total there are 48 ministries and 5 institutions under Prabowo's leadership.
Of the dozens of ministries/agencies, nine ministries were divided into 21 new ministries in the Prabowo era. With different nomenclatures from the previous government, the DPR needs to adjust the composition of the AKD, including the division of partners.
"After yesterday being announced by the cabinet from the government, President Prabowo's Red and White Cabinet, of course, we then completed partners from each commission and (AKD)," said Puan.
Puan said that the work sector of Commission I-XI would still be the same as the previous DPR period, while Commission XII would be in charge of energy and mineral resources, while Commission XIII was in charge of legal and regulatory affairs.
"At Commission XII Energi or ESDM, the Commission XIII of Law, Reform, and Human Rights," said the first woman to serve as Chair of the DPR RI.
The determination of the work sector of Commissions XIII and XIII is adjusted to the addition of ministries from the Red and White Cabinet.
Furthermore, Puan emphasized that there were no additional buildings in the DPR even though there were two additional commissions and 1 new agency, namely the Aspiration Agency. According to her, the DPR will function the room that was already available.
"There is no additional building but the room has been prepared. So the room that is already available we will place it for commissions XIII and XIII, so there are no additional buildings. There is already an exiting," said Puan.
The results of the determination of the AKD work sector which was set at the Bamus Meeting today will be brought to the Plenary Meeting tomorrow, Tuesday (22/10), to become an agreement with the DPR. Later, according to Puan, the faction leadership will also submit the names of its members to fill each AKD, including who is chosen for the leadership of the commission and agency.
"Later it will be set tomorrow at the plenary meeting which will be held on Tuesday. (Active AKD) after the plenary session," said the former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture.
"(The position of AKD chairman/leader) tomorrow we will announce it, tomorrow let the leaders of their respective factions and we will announce it in the plenary session," concluded Puan.
