Wife Criticized For Joged On TikTok, Ustaz Solmed Gives Explanation Of Islamic Law
JAKARTA - Ustaz Solmed's wife, April Jasmine, has drawn criticism from netizens because her upload on TikTok was deemed inappropriate because it stole the attention of many people. The video was made to celebrate his 35th birthday on Thursday, April 1.
The video opens with April Jasmine walking backwards towards her friends. Then April danced with three other women wearing hijab.
The 35-year-old woman looks excited when dancing together. He danced wearing an all white outfit combined with a light blue denim jacket. April Jasmine wears a light gray beret over the headscarf, slides a black bag, plus pinned glasses on her chest.
After receiving criticism, Ustad Solmed explained the law of dancing via Instagram.
"Here, those who want to read the law of dancing, gymnastics, dancing. So that you don't use up your quota? What's the point? You can, with a note," wrote Ustaz Solmed by uploading a row of white Arabic letters on a black background, without explanation or translation.
Sholeh Mahmoed Nasution's defense of April Jasmine again sparked a reaction from netizens. Most of them question and regret that a preacher lets his wife show her genitals through dancing that is spread in cyberspace.
Feeling insufficient to provide a defense, Ustaz Solmed also gave an explanation to the media trying to confirm directly. "I saw what my wife was doing with very simple, very simple movements, like we used to sing Goose Duck Cut. What I saw was hand to the right, to the left, what's wrong with it? Is it the movement? Or the song? Or the TikTok?" Solmed said as quoted from Instagram @lambe_turah as quoted on Tuesday, April 6.
"We all have to be clear in looking at the problem. Long before this our scholars have discussed dance. They are all different but they do not criticize each other, do not coerce each other. Hear each other respect, that's what the religion brought by the Prophet Muhammad," concluded Ustaz Solmed.
