Prabowo Officially Inaugurates Abdul Kadir Karding Minister Of Protection For Indonesian Migrant Workers

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto officially inaugurated Abdul Kadir Karding as Minister of Protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers. The inauguration ceremony took place at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday, October 21.

The Ministry of Protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers is a new ministry whose previous task force was run by the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI) with the status of a non-ministerial government agency.

The focus of this ministry is to strengthen protection for Indonesian migrant workers who are abroad. Karding is a legislator who has been sitting in the DPR RI for several periods.

In 2019, Karding joined the Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin National Campaign Team (TKN) as Deputy Chair.

The inauguration began with singing Indonesia Raya. Then, read out the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 134P/2024 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of the Head of the State Intelligence Agency.

After that, Prabowo took the oath of office of ministers and heads of institutions in his cabinet. This procession was also attended by clergy.

"I swear that I will be loyal to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will carry out all laws and regulations as straight as possible for the sake of my service to the nation and state," said Prabowo reading the oath of office followed by all ministers and heads of institutions who were sworn in today.

"That in carrying out my duties, I will uphold the ethics of my position, work my best, with a full sense of responsibility."

In addition, it was also read out by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 135P/2024 concerning the Appointment of the Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia; Presidential Decree Number 141 of 2024 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of the Head of the Presidential Communication Office; and Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 139P/2024 concerning the appointment of the Chairman of the National Economic Council. The reading was made by Nanik Purwanti as Deputy for Apparatus Administration of the Ministry of State Secretariat.
