Yogyakarta Mayor's Paslon Kian Solid, Four Parties Also Support Afnan - Singgih

YOGYAKARTA - The candidate pair for the Mayor of Yogyakarta, promoted by the Golkar Party, Afnan Hadikusumo-Singgi Raharjo, is getting more solid. Because the coalition of political parties that carry the candidate pairs continues to grow. Now there are four political parties that support the candidate pairs.

Dukunga to the Afnan-Singgih pair continues to grow. Although the coalition of supporting parties for each candidate for mayor and deputy mayor of Yogyakarta has been formed and registered with the KPU of Yogyakarta City, they remain open and receive support from other parties.

There are four parties that express their support for them, namely the Garuda Party, Hanura Party, Perindo Party and the Nusantara Awakening Party (PKN). The joining of the four parties makes the coalition more fat and solid. Because the Afnan-Singgih candidate has received support from the Golkar Party, Gerindra, PKS, PPP, PKB, the People's Party, PSI and the Labor Party.

The chairman of the coalition party carrying Afnan-Singgih, who is the chairman of the Yogyakarta City Golkar Party DPD, Agus Mulyono, said that the support from these four parties further added to the strength of the coalition to win the Afnan-Singgih in the 2024 Yogyakarta City Pilkada.

"Yes, it is true [to join]. That is the right of him-beliau. We have no problem and give appreciation. A political process like that cannot be forced. Alhamdulillah, 8 political parties have promoted it, and now add 4 more parties," Agus said at the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Golkar Party organized by the Yogyakarta City Golkar Party, Sunday, October 20, 2024.

Furthermore, Agus, said, the number of supports from the party will continue to grow. The coalition is open to this support. "God willing, in the near future someone will join again," he asserted.

Only the four political parties that have just joined cannot enter the coalition as has been determined by the General Elections Commission (KPU). This is what makes them volunteers.

"During the registration of the Afnan-Singgih candidate pair at the KPU of Yogyakarta City, the four political parties have not been signed and registered. So we call them volunteers. So they are Garuda Volunteers, Hanura Volunteers, PKN Volunteers and Perindo Volunteers," said Agus.

This is because it requires collaboration from all parties to create the people of the city of Yogyakarta which is cleaner, more advanced, prosperous and cultured.
