MPR Chair Hopes President Prabowo Continues To Fight For Palestine's Independence

Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Ahmad Muzani hopes that the newly appointed President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto can continue to fight for the independence of the Palestinian people.

He attended the inauguration ceremony of President and Vice President Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka at the Nusantara Building, Parliament, Jakarta, Sunday said that the Palestinian conflict was a complex issue that must be handled.

"One of the issues handled appropriately is the struggle of the Palestinian people to gain their independence and human rights," he said.

According to him, as a nation that upholds the principles of justice and humanity, Indonesia has a moral responsibility to continue to support the struggle of the Palestinian people.

"Through active diplomacy, we can vote on those marginalized, as well as encourage the international community to unite in efforts to support the rights of the Palestinian people," he said.

He conveyed that the Indonesian people had entrusted their hopes to Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka to continue their commitment to continue fighting for Palestinian independence.

"To President Prabowo Subianto, through this honorable pulpit, we hope to continue this commitment, making support for Palestinian independence part of our foreign political policy," he said.

Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka took the oath of office as President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2024-2029 term of service at the MPR RI Plenary Session at the Nusantara Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Sunday.

A total of 732 members of the MPR RI witnessed the procession of taking the oath of office. The MPR RI Plenary Session was also attended by national figures, leaders of political parties, and representatives of friendly countries.
