Pondok Rajeg Station Officially Operates, Passengers Are Estimated To Reach 4,000 Per Day
JAKARTA - Pondok Rajeg Station located in Cilodong District, Depok, West Java was officially reactivated and started operating today. The station is predicted to serve 4,000 passengers per day.
VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter Joni Martinus said with the addition of this station, KAI ensured that it would improve services to passengers.
"We predict that in the early stages of this inauguration, around 3,000 to 4,000 passengers a day will go up and down at Rajeg Station," he told reporters, in Jakarta, Saturday, October 19.
Previously, it was reported that the reactivation of the station in Cilodong District, Depok had just been inaugurated by the government, in this case the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi this morning.
Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi said that the reactivation of Pondok Rajeg stations would increase connectivity in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas, even to the end of the Depok and Bogor areas.
"A few years ago I came here and Pondok Rajeg station is not functioning yet. Today the station can be used and the public will enjoy the convenience of riding mass public transportation from Pondok Rajeg to the center of Jakarta," he said in an official statement, Saturday, October 19.
Budi said Pondok Rajeg Station serves the KRL Commuter Line trip across Jakarta City-Nambo.
This reactivation is expected to be able to reduce the level of congestion in Jabodetabek due to the high use of private vehicles compared to public transportation.

According to Budi, the reactivation of Pondok Rajeg station, which has not been operating since 2006, is part of the Ministry of Transportation's commitment to improve integrated, efficient and affordable public transportation services.
"The Ministry of Transportation has the task of the President that connectivity between modes must be made well and I appreciate the collaboration of all parties," he said.
For your information, the reactivation of Pondok Rajeg station has been carried out by the Jobedetabek Transportation Management Agency (BPTJ) since 2022 at a cost of Rp. 27.9 billion. Currently, the management of Pondok Rajeg stations has been handed over to the Directorate General of Railways through the Jakarta Class I Railway Engineering Center.
