People's Hope For New Members Of The DPR: Go To The Field!

JAKARTA - A total of 580 new DPR members consist of new and old people. Some of them are new people, namely Ahmad Sahroni, Yasonna Laoly to young ones such as Prananda Surya Paloh.

There are names of artists who fill the DPR building, such as Uya Kuya, Denny Cagur, Once Mekel to Verrel Bramastya. Meanwhile, the names of young DPR members can be seen from figures such as Farah Puteri Nahlia, Muhammad Rahul to Hillary Brigitta Lasut.

In addition, the DPR has also approved the addition of commissions to 13 commissions as board equipment (AKD). The number of commissions that were previously 11 commissions became 13 commissions. The determination of this AKD was approved by the Chairman of the DPR, Puan Maharani, at the October 14, 2024 meeting.

Thus, new members of the DPR can focus more on work. This is because the addition of commissions can be a forum for the aspirations of the people.

The hopes for these new members of the DPR have also begun to be entrusted. Experts and teachers hope that legislative members who have just focused on the issue of social welfare and education.

One of these hopes was conveyed by social observer Davis Roganda Parlindungan. Davis hopes that the new DPR members can focus on social development. Especially referring to the MDGs program.

"I hope this DPR will focus more on legislation and budget. Coincidentally, I focus on social development. As we all know that Indonesia has ratified The Eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)," Davis said in his statement, Saturday, October 19.

He also hopes that the new DPR will focus on priority programs. Namely the main thing in the social sector.

"I hope that in the future this will be a priority program as well. Because of how to improve human development, especially from the social sector. Because we have aspirations to build a prosperous country," he said.

He also highlighted the problem of poverty which is still a crucial issue. Because, to this day, the development of disadvantaged areas is still far from the target of welfare. He also mentioned the issue of education.

"Of course it's a matter of alleviating poverty. And also a matter of how we know that some areas are still far from prosperous. Continue to be a matter of quality education, this is also a challenge. Because there are still many school facilities that are still problematic," he said.

The same thing was conveyed by political communication expert, Salman Naning. Initially, Salman explained that these members of the DPR were not entirely filled with new faces.

"Almost 50%, this DPR member has a new face. But if we look at them, they are the ones who have been in power. Because there are several members of the DPR who are the children and grandchildren of those who have served. So actually, they are not very recent in politics," he said.

He also hopes for these new members of the DPR. He invited all parties to welcome them.

"Even so, we hope for them, we welcome them. Because we want a better situation," he said.

He hopes that the people's representatives who are now not repeating mistakes similar to their predecessors. He advised them not to betray the voices of the people.

The teachers also expressed a number of their hopes to this new DPR member. A teacher named Nova Dora is looking forward to the performance of the new DPR member.

"What I'm waiting for now is performance. No matter what, if you are in the right environment, the results are correct. What I hope is from various circles and ages, yes, the development," he explained.

"I can't assess the performance of the working person," he continued.

Nova wants the members of the DPR to start a new beginning. He said new DPR members had to move first so that their performance would not be imagined by their predecessors.

"Our hope is for the team on duty, I really hope. Because this starts from scratch. So don't go away, move on first," he said.

Meanwhile, Catur Akbar, who is also a teacher, wants more education issues to be considered. He wants the people's representatives now to come down to see the field conditions.

"The main hope is, especially fellow teachers, to be educated more. Hopefully, we can see more in the field, not just about theory," he said.

He invited the people's representatives to monitor field conditions. So that these members of the DPR know the real problem in the world of education.

"For these new members, they monitor the reality in the field more often," he concluded.
