Ministry Of Finance Asks Regional Governments In Bengkulu To Encourage MSMEs In 2021 To Take Advantage Of KUR
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance through the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Treasury (DJPb) Bengkulu Province asked local governments to encourage small, micro, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to utilize people's business credit funds (KUR).
As reported by Antara, Tuesday, April 6, Head of the Regional Office of the DJPb Bengkulu Province Syarwan in Bengkulu, Monday said that until the end of March 2021 the distribution of the KUR program in Bengkulu Province reached IDR 749 billion with the largest distributors namely BRI and Bank Mandiri.
Based on the details per area, the largest KUR distribution is in North Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu City, and Mukomuko Regency with the distribution having reached more than IDR 100 billion.
"Moreover, currently it is still in a pandemic condition, many businesses require additional capital or financial assistance to facilitate business. Regional organizations, in this case, should be obliged to take part in encouraging MSMEs to take advantage of this KUR program", he said.
Syarwan emphasized that various regional apparatus organizations that have UMKM guidance such as the Cooperative Office, the Agriculture Service, the Animal Husbandry Service, and the Fisheries and Marine Services must encourage MSME players to access KUR.
According to him, the involvement of the regional government is very necessary considering that there are still many UMKM players who do not know how to access capital assistance with low-interest rates.
Besides, Syarwan also asked local governments to encourage people to take advantage of ultra-micro credit (UMi), which offers loans of up to IDR 10 million per customer as an effort to accelerate economic recovery.
This UMi credit distribution program is intended for people with low incomes or who still have economic potential that is completely unaffordable to credit from banks or other financial institutions.
This financing program has been implemented since 2017 by allocating a budget of IDR 1.5 trillion.
"Therefore, we also ask for support from the local government to encourage people to take advantage of UMi credit. By utilizing these programs, we hope that in the future the people's economy will be even better", he said.
