Aldila Sutjiadi Steps Into The Semifinals Of Ningbo Open 2024
JAKARTA Indonesia's mainstay tennis player, Aldila Sutjiadi, with her partner from China, Xu Yifan, stepped into the semifinals of WTA 500 Ningbo Open 2024.
The two of them performed solidly and compactly to stop the host pair, Zhang Shuai/Yang Zhaoxuan, on Thursday, October 17, 2024.
Aldila/Xu, who are only paired for the first time, showed extraordinary chemistry on the field. They managed to overcome the pressure and ended the match with a straight set, 6-4 and 6-4 wins.
"We performed solid today. Even though Xu and I just got together, our communication and strategy on the pitch is very good," said Aldila after the match.

The Asian tournament is very important for Aldila to improve her ranking. Prior to the Asian tour, Aldila's ranking was 45.
After advancing to the semifinals of the WTA 1000 Wuhan Open 2024, the ranking has now risen to 34.
In the semifinals of Ningbo Open 2024, Aldila/Xu will meet the winner between the second seed Barbora Krejcikova/Chan Hao-ching vs pair Demi Schuurs/Yue Yuan.
The two pairs will play their quarter-finals on Friday, October 18, 2024, this evening.
