Officially Operating, The Betung 'Tempino' Jambi Toll Road Section 3 Is Still Free

JAKARTA - The Betung 'Tempino' Jambi Toll Road Section 3 Bayung Lencir (Tempino) along 34 kilometers (km) can be crossed by the public on Thursday, October 16, 2024 starting at 07.00 WIB.

The first toll road operating in Jambi Province has been inaugurated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on Wednesday, October 16, 2024.

"The 34 km Betung Tempino Section 3 (Tempino Bayung Lencir Segment) Toll Road will start operating without tariffs starting Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 07.00 WIB based on the Decree of the Minister of PUPR No. 2798/KPTS/M/2024 concerning the operation of this toll road which will be issued on October 16, 2024," wrote the official Instagram account @hutamakaryatollroad quoted Thursday, October 17.

Previously, this toll road was declared feasible to operate after going through a Functional Feasibility Test (ULF) and obtaining an Operational Implementation Certificate (SLO) on October 14, 2024.

"Even though the tariff has not been charged, users are still required to tap electronic cards at toll gates and make sure the card is in good condition," he explained.

Quoted from the Hutama Karya page, the Bayung Lencir Toll Road "Tempino" is part of the Betung (Sekayu Intersection) "Tempino" Jambi and the first toll road in Jambi Province which also increases connectivity and accessibility between Jambi Province and South Sumatra.

Starting construction in May 2023, this toll road uses a construction support scheme by the government with a total construction value of IDR 5.6 trillion with the output of the 34 km main road (mainroad) being divided into three sections.

It is known that this toll road is supported by various facilities such as 10 overpasses, 4 underpasses and 2 intersections of fields each, toll gates and interchanges.

Hutama Karya itself took a role of 60 percent to build Section 3 Bayung Lencir (Tempino) along 15.47 km by conducting Operational Cooperation (KSO) with PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk and PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) or "Hutama-WIKA-BAP KSO" with a contract value of IDR 2.7 trillion.
