Anthony Ginting, Indonesia's First Representative, Who Was Eliminated At The Denmark Open 2024
JAKARTA - Anthony Ginting failed to pass the first round of the Denmark Open 2024 after falling in the hands of the Japanese representative, Kenta Nishimoto, at Arena Fyn, Odense, Wednesday, October 16, 2024, WIB night.
The men's singles gave up in a rubber game battle with scores 12-21, 21-15, and 20-22.
In the first set, Ginting could not catch up with Nishimoto after 1-1 position. He was three points behind until the interval, 8-11.
After the break, Ginting got closer 12-14, but it turned out that the points stopped there.
Nishimoto then got seven points in a row to take the first set.

After that, the 27-year-old badminton player took the lead in the 11-8 interval. Nishimoto had equalized twice after the break, 12--12 and 15-15.
However, after that Ginting advanced with six consecutive points to lock the second set.
In the determination set, the fight was fierce. Ginting was in the top of the wind with a 7-1 advantage and closed the middle of the set with a score of 11-6.
However, Nishimoto got up and Ginting failed to anticipate. The Japanese badminton player managed to equalize 14-14 before chasing the numbers.
There were two draws recorded, 16-16 and 17-17 before Nishimoto took the lead until match point 20-18.
Ginting did not give up. Two points in a row forced duece. However, Nishimoto managed to get the next two points to win the game.
Nishimoto's victory improved the meeting record with Ginting. Now, the Japanese single has five wins, while Ginting has seven wins.
Meanwhile, Anthony Ginting became the first Indonesian representative to fail to advance to the second round of the Denmark Open 2024.
He could not follow in the footsteps of other colleagues. Previously, Indonesia had gone through securing seven tickets to the second half.
Single numbers are Jonatan Christie, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, and Putri Kusuma Wardani. Then, the men's doubles Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana and Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto also survive.
Finally, all mixed doubles representatives, namely Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati and Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari also qualified for the second round.
Only Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan remained who had not played in the first round of the Denmark Open 2024.
