Pursuing The Provincial Government's Target, PAM Jaya Speeds Up Connections Of 2 Million Customers Until 2030

JAKARTA - BUMD PAM Jaya targets piped clean water services of up to 2 million customers by 2030. This is a target given by the DKI Provincial Government. As of June 2024, PAM Jaya is recorded to have served around 941,341 customers in Jakarta or around 46.69 percent of the target.

PAM Jaya President Director Arief Nasrudin said that his party was carrying out priority projects until 2030 in order to meet the coverage of 100 percent of clean water services for Jakarta residents.

"Various priority efforts such as building communal reservoirs; developing a drinking water supply system (SPAM); increasing the number of Water Processing Installations (IPA) in Buaran III, Ciliwung, Pesanggrahan, and a number of areas are currently underway," said Arief in his statement, Wednesday, October 16.

Arief explained that the construction of communal reservoirs was carried out to create sustainable solutions related to the stable distribution of clean water, especially in areas with low water pressure.

"Currently, there are at least six points in Jakarta where there are communal reservoirs, namely in Pluit, Cilincing, Duri Kosambi, Marunda Kepu, Taman Sari, Marunda. The target for completion of construction by the end of 2024 is 13 communal reservoirs," he explained.

Meanwhile, regarding the development of the SPAM project, PAM JAYA Service Director Syahrul Hasan said that in fulfilling the 100 percent net water access coverage ambition in Jakarta, the work that must be completed are SPAM Jatiluhur and SPAM Karian Serpong.

Both are National Strategic Projects of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR).

The process of developing the Phase 1 Jatiluhur SPAM is underway and PAM JAYA has received new connection registrations of up to 20,231 files. As for SPAM Karian Serpong, it is still in process at the Ministry of PUPR. It is hoped that phase 1 projects can run in 2026, according to the roadmap that has been prepared by PAM JAYA. We are targeting that in the last year the target is 100 percent in 2030, it is hoped that there will be a total of 2 million PAM JAYA piping connections," said Syahrul.
