Jokowi Hopes Indonesia's Economy Is Much Better In Prabowo's Hands
BANDA ACEH - President Joko Widodo hopes that the Indonesian economy will experience much better growth under the leadership of the new President Prabowo Subianto.
"We hope that with the inauguration of the new President General of the TNI Purnawirawan Prabowo Subianto, our economy will be much better, we hope for that," said President Jokowi in Aceh Besar as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 15.
This statement was made by President Jokowi when giving a speech at the inauguration of the Aceh Unggul Great (Amanah) Youth building at the Aceh Industrial Estate (KIA) Ladong complex, Mesjid Raya District, Aceh Besar District.
Jokowi said that Indonesia's economy last year still experienced a growth of 5.08 percent, and this year it is estimated that it is still above that figure. Therefore, it is hoped that through the President-elect it will be much more.
"Alhamdulillah, last year, our economy still grew 5.08 percent, this year we estimate that God willing, it will still be above 5 percent," he said.
Jokowi said that currently Indonesia is at a global uncertainty, first because this year's world economy is estimated to only grow 2.6 or 2.7, and next year 2.7-2.8. This means that it is still very low.
"Many countries have entered the brink of recession, developed countries have entered the brink of recession," he said.

"A further Iran and Israel add to that uncertainty," he said.
The third uncertainty is climate change that has begun to be seen with the storm, the strong heat has been felt.
This condition, continued the President, has caused competition and competition between countries to this day to be really very strict.
So, in dealing with these conditions, it is necessary to have superior human resources, so that they can compete with the outside world.
"Therefore, our key is how we can create superior human resources, so that we can compete with other countries," said President Jokowi.
