President Jokowi Inaugurates North Sumatra Main Stadium
MEDAN - President Joko Widodo inaugurated the North Sumatra Main Stadium located in Sena Village, Batang Kuis District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra.
"North Sumatra now has a very large and very luxurious stadium. As we saw this afternoon," said President Jokowi accompanied by Acting Governor of North Sumatra, Agus Fatoni, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 15.
The President requested that the maintenance of the closing arena of the XXI 2024 Aceh National Sports Week (PON) be maximized.
According to the president, based on the experience of many stadiums that were not treated properly after it was inaugurated, so that it could not be used by the community.

Therefore, the President asked that the stadium, which was built from the state budget of IDR 587 billion, be maximized as best as possible.
"Because from our experience in other provinces, sports facilities were built, after PON, everything was not maintained. I have seen, not only one, not only two, not only three, not only four. All of them Because no one is wearing it, not being treated. Don't let it happen in North Sumatra," said Jokowi.
Jokowi hopes that with this main stadium, sports coaching in North Sumatra can continue to increase so that it can make the name of the region and state proud.
"We hope that this magnificent and luxurious stadium will continue to be maintained, continue to be used and useful for sports coaching in North Sumatra," said Jokowi.
The main stadium of North Sumatra was built on an area of 48,420 square meters with a building area of 27,452 square meters and a capacity of 25,750 spectators.
