The Suspect In The Murder Of A Travel Driver In Jambi Is Threatened With 15 Years In Prison
JAMBI - The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the Jambi Police revealed the progress of the murder case of a victim of a travel driver. He revealed that the suspect in the alleged murder case named Matnur (48) would face a threat of 15 years in prison.
Deputy Director of Criminal Investigation at the Jambi Police AKBP Imam Rachman in Jambi, Sunday, said that the driver's murder was subject to Article 365 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code against the crime of theft with violence which resulted in people dying.
He said his party had arrested a suspect in the murder of Matnur in South Sumatra, with the initials HS in early October 2024, and currently the perpetrator HS has been detained by the Jambi Police Headquarters for the process of deepening the case.
In addition, he said, the Jambi Police had also named two other perpetrators of the murder as suspects, who are still at large or on the wanted list (DPO) by the police.
The two DPO suspects, namely AT (35) a resident of Jambi and AI (36) a resident of South Sumatra. The two DPO perpetrators acted as executors. One perpetrator strangled, and the other twisted the victim's neck until it broke.
According to Imam, the suspects wanted to control the victim's property, especially the car.
While on the ship from Batam to Tungkal, Tanjung Jabung Barat, Jambi, the three of them beat and agreed to commit a crime, citing economic needs.

He said the role of HS the perpetrators who had been caught was to help the DPOs carry out crimes.
Previously, on September 11, 2024, a person's body was found in the Bayung Lencir area, South Sumatra. The Jambi Regional Police coordinated with the local police regarding the discovery of the body.
Musi Banyuasin Police, South Sumatra (Sumsel), identified that the body was a person who was reported missing at the West Tanjab Police Station, Jambi, on September 9, 2024.
After the autopsy of the body, the Police stated that the victim Matnur had died as a result of being killed.
