Palestine Asks US Urges Israel To Comply With International Resolution
JAKARTA - The Palestinians called on the US to stop supporting Israel and force them to end aggression and comply with international resolutions.
"The US government must force its strategic ally, Israel, to stop its aggression in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, and comply with international legitimacy resolutions and the International Court's decision," said the official spokesman for the Palestinian Presidential Decree, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, in a statement quoted by Anadolu via Antara, Sunday, October 13.
"Washington must stop its support for Israel, which continues to commit brutal crimes, ignite the region and push it towards a full-scale explosion that no one will be able to dam," he added.
Rudeineh considers the US to be responsible for Israel's ongoing "genocide" in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, in particular, highlighting the total sieges carried out in northern Gaza.
The Palestinian official reiterated that "the only solution to all the problems in the region is ending Israel's occupation and establishing a Palestinian state based on Palestinian, Arab and international legitimacy."
Separately, the Central Committee of the Fatah movement issued a statement calling for "wide international actions to stop injustices committed against Palestine and its people, and to save northern Gaza from accelerated genocide."
Fatah's leadership declared "its absolute rejection of global failure in the face of genocide committed against the Palestinian people, with northern Gaza now witnessing one of its last stages."
Since October 6, Israeli soldiers have imposed a tight siege of Jabalia, following an unprecedented escalation of violence in northern Gaza.
Israel continues to carry out brutal attacks on Gaza following cross-border attacks by the Palestinian Hamas group on October 7, 2023, despite UN Security Council resolutions calling for an immediate ceasefire.
Nearly 42,200 people have been killed since then, mostly women and children, and more than 98,300 people have been injured, according to local health authorities.
The Israeli attack has displaced nearly the entire population of the Gaza Strip amid a continuing blockade that has caused a shortage of food, clean water, and severe medicines.
