Palembang City Government Reorganizes Watersheds In The Ancient Park Area

PALEMBANG - The City Government (Pemkot) of Palembang, South Sumatra (Sumsel), has reorganized the river flow in the Purbakala Park area to create a Purbakala Sriwijaya Center tourist spot.

Acting Mayor of Palembang Ucok Abdulrauf Darmenta said the Palembang City Government continues to strive to preserve the flow of rivers in the Purbakala Park area to make it a tourist spot.

The river in question is the Kedukan River which is connected to the Musi River and becomes a pilot tourist project for the Wong Kito community.

"Based on our analysis, yes, this river is wide enough and the flow distance is about an hour from the Musi River, we rearranged it, besides that there is also a bridge above which needs to be repaired," he said in Palembang, Antara, Sunday, October 13.

His party will immediately communicate to make arrangements. Previously, since he was first appointed as Acting Mayor of Palembang Ucok Abdulrauf Darmenta echoed a program that directly touched residents.

"The beautifulness of the Ampera Bridge, the Musi River span, the Kuto Besak Fort courtyard, the LRT transportation facilities, the culinary facilities we have, the arts, tourism, lodging, the largest sports city, namely Jakabaring we have. It's just a matter of how we introduce Palembang City as a city that can really take care of it all," said Ucok Abdulrauf.
