Sri Mulyani Reveals DJBC Performance Achievements Up 25 Percent Every Year

JAKARTA - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati appreciated the performance achievements

The Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) over the past 10 years due to surveillance and prosecution carried out by Customs and Excise increased by an average of 25 percent every year.

Sri Mulyani explained that this action was carried out against illegal goods that disrupted the national economy and endangered human resources.

According to Sri Mulyani in recent years, the prosecution of NPP (Narkotika Precursor Psychotropic) which has been carried out by Customs and Excise together with law enforcement officers even reaches 6 tons per year.

In addition, Sri Mulyani conveyed that the action against the trade in other illegal goods was also carried out massively against hundreds of millions of illegal cigarettes, alcoholic beverages, balpres, vehicles, telecommunications goods, natural resources, and other trade goods that entered and left Indonesian territory illegally.

"This is a real threat to the people of Indonesia. Not only in terms of the amount that is emphasized, but it is a threat to the quality of Indonesian human resources which will experience health impacts and rehabilitation costs that reach trillions of rupiah," he said in his statement, quoted on Sunday, October 13.

He added that Customs and Excise has a very important and real role in maintaining the Indonesian economy, such as in facilitating foreign trade, supporting industrial activities, protecting the community, collecting state revenues to be able to continue to support growth and create job opportunities.

However, Sri Mulyani conveyed that the current global and geopolitical economic conditions are experiencing increasingly high uncertainty.

So that according to Sri Mulyani, Customs and Excise must be able to continue to increase vigilance and increase the ability to maintain the domestic industry, including through enforcement or law enforcement.

Sri Mulyani hopes that DJBC can become a reliable institution in maintaining the economy and creating legal certainty.

"This is a noble mission and task. Do it seriously and sincerity. Give the best for Indonesia, because you are never tired of loving Indonesia," he said.
