Update On COVID-19 As Of March 31: Community Contribution Reaches IDR 80 Billion

JAKARTA - Government spokesman for the handling of the corona virus or COVID-19 Achmad Yurianto (Yuri) said there was an increase of 114 positive corona virus patients, as of Tuesday, March 31 at 12.00 WIB. In total, there are 1,528 positive corona patients and are spread across 32 provinces throughout Indonesia.

Furthermore, Yuri stated that there were an additional 14 cases of patients who died, with a total of 136 people who died per day. Also, there was an additional 6 cases of patients who were declared cured to a total of 75.

DKI Jakarta is still the province with the highest number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia. As of today, 751 positive cases have been recorded in all administrative cities. Then, in Jakarta there were 451 positive case patients who were treated in the hospital, 49 people were declared cured, 84 people died, and 157 people went into independent isolation.

In addition, in today's update, Yuri announced the amount of donations from the public for handling the COVID-19 virus from two accounts. The total donation obtained today reached Rp. 80 billion.

"In the COVID-19 accounts, more than 40 billion have been recorded, as well as the task force volunteer desk accounts, the number is more than 40 billion," Yuri said at a press conference at Graha BNPB, East Jakarta, Tuesday, March 31.

Yuri claimed that the Task Force would use this donation aid appropriately and responsibly. The use of donations will be reported openly on the covid19.go.id web portal and bnpb.go.id.

Yuri invited the community to thank workers who still carry out their work outside the home. They are medical personnel, security forces, couriers, and transportation service workers, both online motorcycle taxi drivers and public transportation drivers.

"They are the ones who raised the banner 'we stay here for you, please stay home for us'. We work outside for you, stay at home for us. We appreciate the officers who carry out the mandate to work outside the home," said Yuri.

Yuri also thanked the workers who had obeyed the advice of their respective office leaders to remain productive working from home.
