IGDX Conference 2024, Agate Encourages Efforts To Consolidate Indonesia's Game Industry

JAKARTA - Agate International (Agate), the largest game developer in Indonesia participating in the Indonesia Game Developer Exchange (IGDX) Conference 2024, the biggest annual event initiated by the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia and the Indonesian Game Association (AGI).

Being a forum for the development of the Indonesian game industry ecosystem and offering space for innovative collaborations in the game business sector, the 2024 IGDX was attended by various countries such as Russia, Poland and France which also brought their publishers, developers, and investors. In a panel discussion session entitled "Looking Back - Stories from the Largegest Success from Indonesia," Shieny Aprilia, Co-Founder and CEO of Agate, shared insights into Agate's successful journey in the game industry, particularly as a successful local game developer company in the global market.

Coinciding with the important momentum of the IGDX as an important platform for global game industry stakeholders, Agate continues to strengthen global expansion and ongoing fundraising efforts. Through the establishment of business units in Canada, Germany, South Korea, Japan, and the United States, as well as ongoing efforts to enter the European market, this strategic expansion will bring Agate closer to the global player community and open up opportunities for strategic collaboration in the international market.

In addition, Agate is carrying out fundraising efforts to raise USD 2 million through Convertible Notes which will be used to strengthen B2B operations, develop new products, and start a game publishing business for the Indonesian market, which is in line with increasing government support for the local game industry.

This strategic expansion certainly requires greater investment to effectively support both our existing operations and new strategic initiatives in line with our efforts to consolidate the game industry in Indonesia.

Agate has several game titles under development, ranging from Akarmaut: Rootmare, Blades of Mirage, including a collaboration with Confiction Labs via Riftstorm, where the game will enter its third public playtest stage (Alpha Playtest) starting October 17, 2024 at WIB and ending on October 30, 2024 at WIB.

In addition, Agate also co-development Nightmare Battler Zozo with Red Dunes, a game development company from Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, DreadHaunt, a collaboration project with Digital Happiness, with shared IP ownership where DreadHaunt will be published by Dark Product and NUON will launch on Xbox starting October 17, 2024. This collaboration is expected to accelerate the development of high-quality games and expand Agate penetration in various markets.
