PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir signaled that he would immediately carry out the naturalization process for FC Copenhagen player Kevin Diks.

Quoted from the tweet of Erick Thohir's official X account @erickthohir, Saturday, the SOE Minister uploaded a photo shaking hands with Kevin Diks.

"Eating afternoon with F.C. Copenhagen players who have Indonesian descent, don't forget to shake hands. Welcome to the Indonesian national team, @KevinDiks_," wrote Erick in the tweet.

Kevin Diks through his @KevinDiks_ account also responded to Erick Thohir's tweet by giving two-hand emoticons and the Indonesian flag.

Kevin Diks has been widely rumored to be a player who is targeted to be naturalized since 2020, but it will only be realized in the future.

The player who now holds the Dutch passport is known to have Indonesian blood from his mother who comes from Ambon, Natasja Dik Bakarbessy.

Kevin Diks is known to now play for the highest caste club of the Danish League FC Copenhagen and is noted to have had a lot of experience playing in European competitions, including in the Champions League.

In addition, the player who is now 28 years old has been recorded as having defended the Dutch national team in the age group and finally in the U-21 category.

Kevin Diks' presence is expected to increase the strength of the Indonesian national team, which in November will play a tough party at the 2026 World Cup Qualification event in the Asian zone against Japan and Saudi Arabia.
