Lebak Police Arrest Demonstrators Who Collapsed The Fence Until Satpol PP Died

The Lebak Resort Police (Polres) arrested the perpetrators of a demonstration at the local DPRD building that killed a Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol) officer on behalf of Yadi Supriyadi (50).

"We ensure that this case continues to be developed and there may be other suspects," said Lebak Police Chief AKBP Suyono as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, October 12.

The two perpetrators of violence with the initials RK (23) are students who are field coordinators (korlap) and MM (37) as participants in the action that pushed the fence of the local DPRD building.

The police also secured evidence in the form of victim's clothes, cellphones and also some other evidence.

"The two perpetrators are residents of Lebak Regency," he explained.

The demonstration began with demands against the chairman of the DPRD, Dr. Juwita Wulandari, on September 23, 2024, which was carried out by the Lebak Community Association (PML).

Chronology of the incident at 10.00 WIB, they came to the local DPRD building and at 10.30 WIB carried out anarchic action to knock down the building fence

The fence of the Lebak DPRD building collapsed which resulted in two Satpol PP officers guarding the security of being hit by an iron fence named Yadi and Martono.

The two officers were rushed to Adjidarmo Rangkasbitung Hospital for medical treatment, but Yadi had to be referred to Hermina Hospital Jalan Daan Mogot Jakarta.

"The victim Yadi died on October 9, 2024 after undergoing head surgery, due to the nerve part," he said.
