Fast Action, The Ministry Of Social Affairs Sends IDR 1 Billion Aid To The Bima Flood

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Social Affairs has sent logistical assistance for victims of flash floods in Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province (NTB).

The Ministry of Social Affairs assistance in the form of food, family equipment, evacuation equipment, and clothing equipment totaling IDR 1,114,702,685.

The first stage was delivery from the warehouse of NTB province in the form of 180 packages of instant food, 125 packages of children's food.

Then, kids wear family supplies 25 packages, food 26 packages, family kitchen equipment 25 packages. As well as evacuation equipment in the form of 100 sheets of red mattresses, 50 sheets of red rolled-up tents, 35 units of red mattresses.

"Clothing equipment, such as 10 pieces of red blankets, totaling IDR 93,545,465", wrote the Ministry of Social Affairs in a press statement, Monday, April 5.

In the second stage, 300 packages of instant food were sent again from NTB's warehouse and 120 packages of children's food.

Family equipment, namely 120 packages of kidswear. Then, the evacuation equipment was in the form of a red and white family multipurpose tent, one unit of 30 rolled-up tents, and 80 mattresses.

"Clothing equipment in the form of 30 sheets of blankets, a total of IDR 121,352", wrote the Ministry of Social Affairs.

In the third phase, the delivery from Bekasi's central warehouse is 600 packets of instant food and 210 packets of children's food. And family equipment, namely 100 kids wear and 100 units of Family kits.

"The evacuation equipment is 200 units of red mattresses and 4 units of generator sets. As well as clothing equipment: 200 pieces of red blanket, a total of IDR 277,637,910", said the Ministry of Social Affairs.

There is also a Government Rice Reserve (CBP) of 12 thousand kg, totaling IDR 513,267,310.

Meanwhile, shipments from the Sentul TTC warehouse. There is evacuation equipment, including an evacuation boat (asset) 1 unit, a total of IDR 69,800,000.

There are also deliveries from direct shopping in the form of supplies for evacuation needs. Among them, 1,000 kilograms of chicken eggs, 3,600 bottles of 600 ml of mineral water, and 300 packs of sanitary napkins.

"The total is IDR 39,100,000", explained the Ministry of Social Affairs.

The delivery of asset goods to the NTB Provincial Social Service is still in phase three, namely delivery from the Sentul TTC warehouse in the form of evacuation equipment.

"2 units of evacuation boats (assets), a total of IDR 139,600,000", said the official statement from the Ministry of Social Affairs.

It is known that the rain that fell for approximately 9 hours on Saturday, April 3, in all areas of Bima Regency, NTB, caused dams in 4 sub-districts to overflow, inundating rice fields and residents' housing. Floods in Bima killed 2 people.

In an official statement from BNPB (National Agency for Disaster Management), Sunday, April 4, the areas affected by the Bima flood were Madapangga District, Bolo District, Woha District, and Monta District, West Nusa Tenggara. The flood reportedly started at 3:00 p.m, Saturday 3 April, local time. The height of the springs at the time of the incident was reported to be around 50-200 centimeters.

"BPBD (Regional Disaster Management Agency) Bima Regency reported 2 residents who died as a result of the incident. It was recorded that approximately 9,245 families or 27,808 people were affected. The number of residents who fled to relatives' homes and other locations is still in the data collection of BPBD Bima Regency", said the Head of the Center for Disaster Data, Information and Communication BNPB Raditya Jati.

Apart from the casualties, approximately 9,245 housing units were submerged, 12 of which were damaged. Four bridge units were also cut off. Besides, 294 hectares of agricultural land and 25 hectares of fishery land for residents were also affected.
