WHO MyHealth Special Application For COVID-19 Pandemic
JAKARTA - The global outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic is often accompanied by hoax news and disinformation on social media and the public. The World Health Organization (WHO) stepped in by developing a special information application for COVID-19 on Android and iOS devices.
Launching from 9to5Google, an application called WHO MyHealth will contain a number of information related to news, tips and notification alerts regarding the global COVID-19 pandemic. This application was developed by the WHO Covid App Collective team consisting of former Google and Microsoft employees as well as WHO advisors and ambassadors, including health industry practitioners.
The initial version of the WHO MyHealth application was released on March 30. This application made by WHO offers a number of notification features to 'self-triage' that can help diagnose symptoms of COVID-19 infection.
Because it is still in the development stage, a number of embedded features are also fairly basic. Even an appeal and a number of information about COVID-19 is already available on the WHO's WhatsApp chatbot service.
Other aspects of the application developed by the WHO Covid App Collective, among others, can be accessed through the website. Another ambitious feature embedded in this application is the tracking history of suspected corona positive patients, so that users can carry out monitoring and social distancing.
There are six language choices in the WHO MyHealth application, namely, Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish. Apart from WHO MyHealth, WhatsApp actually has provided a chatbot service for special WHO numbers.
The WHO chatbot service can be accessed at +417 9893 1892. Where users will be presented with various options for questions about matters related to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian government's Whatsapp chatbot can also be accessed at +6281133399000 or https://wa.me/6281133399000. The public can ask a number of questions through the INI website, the answers sent come from a summary of information from BNPB and the Ministry of Health regarding COVID-19.
