TNI Soldiers Secure 2021 Easter Worship At 5 Mimika Large Churches

Military District Commander Lt. Col. Yoga said this security was carried out to provide a sense of security to Christians who were carrying out worship during the holy week in 2021.

"With the security from the National Army, it is hoped that the Christian community can be calm and safe during worship without worrying about interference from any party," he also said.

The security of Military District Commander 1710/Mimika personnel was deployed in five selected church points because the church had a large concentration of congregants but other churches were still secured by patrol activities.

Apart from members of the Military District Commander 1710/Mimika, members from other National Army units, the Mimika police and the Mimika Regency Government, and several associations who helped secure the 2021 Easter worship activities were also present in Mimika Regency, Papua.
