Fleet Company's Model M6 Interested, BYD Make Sure It Doesn't Disturb Ordinary Consumer Orders
JAKARTA BYD M6, the latest electric car model from BYD, has attracted the attention of many people, not only automotive lovers but also consumer fleets. One proof is that 1,000 units of BYD M6 have been ordered by Grab to be used as an online taxi fleet, with deliveries to be made in stages throughout 2024.
Luther Panjaitan, Head of Marketing & Communication of PT BYD Motor Indonesia, revealed that it has also communicated with several other large companies interested in using BYD M6 as a fleet.
"There is a fairly large ride-hailing company that is in the preparation stage to take the M6," he said when met in the Bekasi area.
However, Luther has not been able to elaborate further on which companies are interested in using this electricity MPV. However, he ensured that fleet orders would not interfere with shipments for individual consumers.
"We also received orders from non-flats, and the shipments remained according to serial number, with no special priority," he added.

In terms of specifications, BYD M6 comes in three variants, namely Standard, Superior, and Superior Captain. The highest variant, Superior Captain, offers a 6-SEATER configuration with a comfortable Captain Seat feature. For performance, the M6 Standard is equipped with a 55.4 kWh battery capable of traveling a distance of 420 km in one charge. Meanwhile, the Superior variant uses a battery with a larger capacity, 71.8 kWh, which allows a cruising range of up to 530 km.
With impressive specifications and growing interest, BYD M6 seems ready to become a major player in the Indonesian electric car market, both for individual and fleet consumers.
