Amien Rais Will Participate In Pramono-Rano's Campaign In The Jakarta Gubernatorial Election

JAKARTA - Candidate for Governor-Deputy Governor of Jakarta number 3 Pramono Anung-Rano Karno met with the Chairman of the Syuro Council of the Ummat Party DPP Amien Rais and the ranks of the Ummat Party officials.

During the meeting, Amien Rais stated that his party was ready to support Pramono-Rano in the Jakarta gubernatorial election. In fact, the former chairman of the MPR admitted that he would participate in campaigning for Pramono-Rano.

"The Ummat Party has (joined). Join my campaign later, yes," said Amien Rais at the Ummat Party DPP office, South Jakarta, Wednesday, October 9.

Meanwhile, Rano admitted that he was grateful for Amien Rais' intention to participate in the campaign to win over him and Pramono. Amien Rais' support, Rano acknowledged, adds to his enthusiasm in his campaign journey.

With this willingness, Rano admitted that he would arrange a campaign activity schedule that would involve Amien Rais and his party's wings.

"Later, when the party campaign is indeed, Permata Ummat will also come down to help in several areas where we will map it. Moreover, plus Pak Amien Rais wants to come down to help us campaign, wow, so the DKI Pilkada party is getting more lively," said Rano.

Continuing, Pramono Anung revealed that he was grateful to have the support of Amien Rais. Because, during his time as an official of the government of President Megawati Soekarnoputri to Joko Widodo, Pramono admitted that he often received sharp criticism from Amien Rais.

"We are grateful for the support and we really ask to be supported. Because if Mas Amien has appeared on TV, that's if I used to be nervous, now I'm happy," Pramono explained.

Pramono is optimistic that the chance to win the Jakarta gubernatorial election will increase. Because, seeing the trend of survey results from the Jakarta gubernatorial election pair, Pramono-Rano's electability has begun to climb, although it has not yet been ranked the highest.

"After we walked for almost a month and a half, from the initial survey of 0 percent, up 28.5 percent, up 31 percent, last 36.5 percent. Even if you look at big data, especially after yesterday's debate, now the conditions are very different and change," he said.

"Why did the pair Mas Pram and Bang Doel get extraordinary sympathy and public response? Because we are consistent in resolving the problems that come from below," he concluded.
