Hold Back Tears, Zulhas Remembers 10 Years Of Jokowi's Leadership

JAKARTA - The Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan expressed his deep gratitude to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) because for 10 years the government has run the government well.

The man who is familiarly called Zulhas said Jokowi had also succeeded in launching strategic policies.

This policy, continued Zulhas, has succeeded in protecting Indonesia from the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Your permission because this may be the last welcome. We are all grateful that the President has saved us from COVID-19 for two years which is so hard, not easy. You have done a lot," he said at the opening of the 39th TEI, quoted by the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube ddri, Wednesday, October 8.

Not only surviving the COVID-19 pandemic, Zulhas said Jokowi had also succeeded in assisting transportation infrastructure in Indonesia. He said this was reflected in Jakarta which had been connected to Surabaya. Then, Lampung to Aceh.

"The transportation from the time of Bung Karno Jakarta was not completed, now it has penetrated Pak, Jakarta-Surabaya, Lampung-Aceh, you have built tourist centers, Komodo, Lake Toba, Mandalika. Stable economic growth, an average of 5 percent more, controlled inflation. Trade, thank God, is 52 months, it continues to be a surplus," he said.

On this occasion, Zulhas also asked Jokowi not to worry.

Because, according to him, the community is quite intelligent and admits Jokowi's hard work for the past 10 years.

"God willing, the transition to government in my opinion is the best, God willing, the best. You have done a lot for Indonesia. Therefore, we all thank the President," he said,

"Of course as a human being, definitely not perfect, but a lot you have done, we testify. Our society is smart, most of them admit. Indeed, a little sir, so don't worry, a little sir, what is always wrong, whatever is wrong. Our prayers Mr. President, Mr. always be healthy, "he continued.

Zulhas also admitted that he could no longer continue his speech remembering the journey of Jokowi's government for the past 10 years. He admitted that he was sad.

"I think so, if it continues I look dashing, good at talking, but if it continues I also quickly come out of tears, sir," he explained.
