Down From Expected, Chery Reveals The Reason Tiggo 8 Model Is Priced At IDR 300 Million
JAKARTA - After announcing the pre booking price of IDR 10 million during the GIIAS 2024 event last July, PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) officially announced the price of Tiggo 8 for the Indonesian market.
Interestingly, Chery had leaked the price of the estimated Tiggo 8 at the exhibition some time ago at Rp400-500 million. However, after launching the price was only Rp300 million.
Chery Tiggo comes in two variants, namely Comfort, which is at IDR 349.5 million, while for the highest variant or Premium it touches IDR 389.5 million. So why did the price drop drastically?
"We provide more reasonable alternatives for consumers. So if consumers have better options, value for money," said Sales Director of PT CSI Budi Darmawan, at the launch of the price in Jakarta, Tuesday, October 8.

On the same occasion, the Assistant President Director of PT CSI Zeng Shuo, revealed the reason why Chery dared to give the price.
"Tiggo 8 prices are because it can easily see an ecosystem and of course affordable. Tiggo 8 Pro uses 2,000 cc turbo and the power is extraordinary but maybe too big, for that there must be balance power, effort and fuel consumption," said Zeng Shuo.
He further said, after two years, Chery understands what consumers want. For this reason, Chery wants to increase the Tiggo population in Indonesia, and this one model has also been assembled in Indonesia.
"All the rafts here, in our factory partners Handal. Production from the end of September. So there are several consumers, they have received the unit first," he concluded.
