A Decade Of Jokowi's Leadership, The National Police Forms Hundreds Of New Headquarterss
JAKARTA - The National Police formed 620 police headquarters at the Polda level to Pol sub-sectors throughout Indonesia. The formation took place during the leadership of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, said that from hundreds of police headquarters formed, five of them were Regional Police (Polda).
The details are the West Papua Regional Police, the West Sulawesi Regional Police, the North Kalimantan Regional Police, the Central Papua Regional Police, and the Southwest Papua Regional Police. The five regional police were formed in the period 2014 to 2024.
"In total, from 2014 to 2024 there have been 620 regional units consisting of five Polda, 59 Polres, 183 Polsek and 373 Polsubsectors to maintain Kamtibmas and provide optimal services and protection to all Indonesian people," Trunoyudo said in his statement, Tuesday, October 8.
In the future, the National Police will still build the Regional Police in the New Autonomous Region (DOB), namely Central Papua, South Papua, to Mountains Papua.
Of the several provinces of the DOB, two of them already have a decree to form the Regional Police, namely Southwest Papua and Central Papua.
"The two Regional Police are currently still in the process of preparing facilities and infrastructure, such as headquarters and members," he said.
The decision to form the new regional police, continued Trunoyudo, was the decision of the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo through the National Police SSDM which aims to prepare the acceptance of 10,000 Polri members assigned to a number of provinces in Papua.
The recruitment process to be assigned to the new regional police has started this year until 2028.
"They were educated for five months at various SPN, after education they will be temporarily assigned to the area for maturation before being returned to serve in Papua," he said.
Trunoyudo emphasized the addition of regional units at the Polda, Polres, Polsek to Polsubsector levels as well as the recruitment of Polri members in order to realize the maintenance of security and public order. For this reason, the Bhayangkara Corps continues to improve professionalism in order to realize the precise transformation of the Police towards Indonesia Gold 2045.
"The professional police in the hope of the community are the police who provide good protection, protection and services to the community and are increasingly loved," said Trunoyudo.
