Arriving In Indonesia, The Grand Imam Of The Prophet's Mosque Will Meet The Vice President And Friday Prayers At Istiqlal

JAKARTA - The Grand Imam of the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Ahmad bin Ali Al-Hudzaify during a visit to Indonesia was scheduled to meet Vice President Ma'ruf AMin and give a Friday prayer sermon at the Istiqlal Mosque.

"He (Sheikh Ahmad) will be giving a lecture on Friday at the Istiqlal Mosque," said Director General of Islamic Community Guidance at the Ministry of Religion Kamaruddin Amin in Tangerang, quoted by ANTARA Tuesday, October 8.

Prior to that, the Grand Imam of the second mosque for Muslims, would first undergo a state meeting with the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Ma'ruf Amin and the Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas.

Then, continued with a meeting with all ranks of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Islamic Community Organizations and several Islamic Boarding Schools (Ponpes) in Indonesia.

"God willing, it will be received at the Palace by Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, and we are currently waiting for confirmation," he added.

According to Kamaruddin Amin, the state visit by the Grand Imam of the Prophet's Mosque, Sheikh Ahmad, will be held for four days in Indonesia.

"Hopefully, with him visiting Indonesia, it can be useful and a blessing for Indonesia," he said.

It is known that Sheikh Ahmad arrived in the country via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta) Tangerang, Banten, Monday night, on the agenda of state visits in Indonesia.

Sheikh Ahmad bin Ali Al-Hudzaify and his entourage arrived at Soetta Airport VVIP Terminal using a commercial aircraft at around 22.34 WIB.

"I thank you for the special welcome from all of you. I want to convey that I really love all Muslims in Indonesia," said Sheikh Ahmad.

During this visit, a number of officials from the Saudi Arabian State Embassy for Indonesia, the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag), Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), Muhammadiyah, the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), the Indonesian Da'wah Council, UIN Indonesia, the Istiqlal Mosque Management Agency and Darunnajah University were greeted.
