Secretary General Of PDIP Please Meet Megawati-Prabowo Immediately Before The Inauguration Of October 20
PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto hopes that the meeting of PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri with Elected President Prabowo Subianto can be realized before the presidential inauguration on October 20, 2024.
"Meetings are a good thing, part of the friendship between the nation's leaders. Intensive communication has been carried out, just waiting for the right momentum. Of course, the right momentum is expected before Pak Prabowo's inauguration as President," said Hasto, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 7.
He said that in the meeting between leaders there would be many things to discuss, especially the problems of the nation and state. Moreover, in the future the challenges faced by Indonesia are not easy, so mutual awareness is needed, unity from the nation's components.
Hasto believes that with this communication, Indonesia can overcome various challenges, such as geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, then the unfinished Russia-Ukraine war, and food problems which are also challenges in the economic sector.
"Everyone needs smart views and dialogue between leaders such as Mrs. Mega and Mr. Prabowo. Of course, PDIP is committed to its struggle for the nation and state without end so that the commitment is brought in much more important than just matters related to practical politics or the picture of the cabinet going forward," he said.
Hasto admitted that he did not know whether there was an offer of a ministerial position for PDIP in the cabinet in the future. However, he emphasized that cabinet affairs are the prerogative of the president.
"We are more concerned about how to build a commitment to the nation and state. We leave the issue of the minister to the president who has prerogative," he said.
