Judge Solidarity Asks For A Salary, Allowance And Transportation: No More Need For Judges To Complain
JAKARTA - Indonesian Judge Solidarity Coordinator Aji Prakoso hopes that the judge's salary, along with its allowance, can be evaluated regularly, both every 2 years and every 5 years, in order to ensure the welfare of judges.
"We hope that this (payer) is regulated regularly, so there is no need for judges to be present to tell about their complaints," said Aji as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 7.
Aji said that for 12 years, the judges did not get an increase in salaries and allowances. On the other hand, inflation continues to grow.
Aji and his colleagues have made various efforts to fight for the welfare of judges.
These measures include a judicial review of Government Regulation Number 94 of 2012 which regulates the financial rights and facilities of judges in 2018.
"According to the decision (judicial review), the judge's payroll are illegal today because they are still using the method of civil servants, while the judge's position in the State Civil Apparatus Act is a state official," said Aji.
Thus, according to him, the judges have received salaries for five years using methods that are not in accordance with the decision of the Supreme Court No. 23 P/HUM/2018, which states that the judge's basic salary should not be equated with a Civil Servant (PNS).
Aji said that the Solidarity of Indonesian judges will take further action and be bigger than what is currently taking place if the government does not meet the demands of the judges.

"If it is not in accordance with the demands of fellow judges, we will extend the movement, we can also take legal steps against the state, for example, submitting a judicial review of PP 94," said Aji.
Regarding his meeting with representatives of the Indonesian Judge Solidarity, Minister of Law and Human Rights Supratman Andi Agtas communicated with the Ministry of Finance to follow up on the demands of the judges.
"We communicated with the Ministry of Finance regarding this (the demands of the Indonesian Judge Solidarity)," said Supratman.
In addition to the increase in basic salary, the actions of Indonesian Judge Solidarity are also fighting for the renewal of office allowances, expensive allowances, to official homes, transportation, health insurance, and guarantees for the safety of judges.
