Evander Holyfield: Rich In Victorious Period, Bankrupt And Selling A Home Worth £ 4.2 million At The End Of Career

JAKARTA - Boxing legend Evander Holyfield is famous and has an abundance of wealth while he is still active in boxing. However, he was forced to sell his mansion to rapper Rick Ross after experiencing financial difficulties towards the end of his career.

Best remembered for his two wins over Mike Tyson and a draw with Lennox Lewis, Holyfield is the undisputed champion in the cruiser and heavyweight class.

The 58-year-old, who is currently in talks with Iron Mike about a sensational trilogy despite their advanced age, finally tarnished his fine record in the ring of seven defeats in 14 fights.

His last professional fight came at the age of 48 in 2012, with a win over Brian Nielsen. This battle took place three years after his house was sold out of urgent need.

The 109-room mansion in his hometown of Atlanta is labeled a monument to his success. However, it was auctioned off in 2008 and fell into Ross' hands for £ 4.2 million (IDR 84.4 Billion).

A legal notice from the Washington Mutual Bank in June 2008 revealed that the 54,000 square feet of land would be auctioned off for confiscation.

talkSPORT reports that three divorces and a failed business venture impacted Holyfield's fortune. As well as payments for eleven children from six different mothers.

Meanwhile, The Independent revealed in 2012 that Holyfield was bankrupt despite earning £ 350 million during his career.
