Dedi Mulyadi Makes Black Campaign Attacks As A Drug For Vitality In The 2024 West Java Gubernatorial Election

JAKARTA - The candidate for Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi, responded casually to the black campaign attack that led to him in the 2024 West Java Governor Election (Pilgub) contestation. Dedi considered the attack actually a "drug" that increased his vitality to continue to fight for victory.

"If I look at social media today, the campaign has led to a black campaign with religious issues, recycling various news five years ago," said Dedi after the Gerindra Party consolidation event in Bandung, Saturday, October 5.

Dedi admitted that many black campaign attacks through social media targeted him. However, he didn't want to worry too much about this. Instead, he used these attacks as additional motivation to keep trying. "The black campaign is a medicine for me to build vitality," he said again.

According to Dedi, this black campaign is also a warning to each candidate pair to be more vigilant in facing a campaign period that is getting closer to the middle.

"The black campaign is part of the stimulus for all couples to be vigilant. I invite them to raise the issue of SARA with various pretexts published in the name of religion and in any name," he said.

Dedi also emphasized his confidence in the intelligence and conscience of the people of West Java in determining their choice on the voting day for the West Java gubernatorial election, which will take place on November 27, 2024.

According to Dedi, the people of West Java will not be easily influenced by SARA issues that continue to circulate, because they have a mature understanding of what is truly important in choosing a leader.

In the 2024 gubernatorial election, the General Election Commission (KPU) of West Java Province has determined four pairs of candidates for governor and deputy governor. Apart from the Dedi Mulyadi-Erwan Setiawan pair, there is also the Ahmad Syaikhu-Ilham Akbar Habibie pair, KH Acep Adang Ruhiat-Gitalis Dwi Natrina, and the Jeje Wiradinata-Ronald Surapradja pair.

Dedi hopes that the public can use their conscience and intelligence to choose a truly worthy leader, without being affected by the black campaign attacks that continue to be launched by certain parties.
