Accompanied By First Lady Iriana, President Jokowi Leads The 79th TNI Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony At Monas
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) attended the commemoration ceremony of the 79th TNI Anniversary at the National Monument (Monas), Central Jakarta, on Saturday morning acting as ceremony inspector. Jokowi arrived at the location at around 07.30 WIB, accompanied by First Lady Iriana, her eldest son Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and their grandson Jan Ethes.
Arriving at Monas, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, October 5, President Jokowi was greeted by the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono in front of the RI-1 car. In the Honorary Mimbar area, he was also greeted by Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto and a number of TNI-Polri officials.
The ceremony began with the performance of the drumband from the cadets of the Military Academy, as well as air attractions involving Cessna and Rajawali Laut planes around the Monas sky. After that, the ceremony troops from 22 TNI battalions entered the field, followed by the arrival of President Jokowi and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin.
The 79th TNI Anniversary Ceremony was chaired by the Commander of the TNI Major General Djon Afriandi Ceremony, who currently serves as Commander General of Kopassus and graduated from the Military Academy in 1995.
President Jokowi accompanied by TNI Commander Agus Subianto checked the troops by going around the ceremonial field using Maung Pindad tactical cars.
The core event of the 79th Anniversary of the TNI with the theme "Nusantara Baru, Indonesia Maju" includes official reports, honors of greatness, and awarding honors.
After that, various demonstrations from the joint TNI units such as free fall, equestrian troops, and fighter attractions looked stunning to the audience.
The event ended with musical performances from various well-known artists, including Ari Lasso, Dewa 19 and Slank, as well as the procession of cutting cones involving the President and community leaders.
Also attending the event were Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, Puan Maharani, 6th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Tri Sutrisno, 10th and 12th Vice Presidents of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla, 11th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Budiono, and Wife of 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia Abdurrahman Wahid, Sinta Nuriyah Abduramen Wahid.
In addition, the heads of state high institutions and representatives of the ambassadors of friendly countries were also present.
