Aguero Wants To Keep A Career In England And Chelsea Who Are Most Able To Pay Him More Than Rp.261 Billion
JAKARTA - Sergio Aguero is determined to continue his career in the English Premier League after deciding to part ways with Manchester City at the end of this season.
According to the Daily Mail report reported by Antara on Friday, Chelsea is the frontrunner in England to get the services of the Argentine striker during the summer transfer market.
The top scorer in Manchester City's history will leave the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season, ending a decade of accomplished career there.
City announced earlier this week that they would honor the 33-year-old forward's contribution by making a statue.
The Aguero statue will later be placed in front of the club headquarters along with two other City heroes Vincent Kompany and David Silva. The Kompany and Silva statues are currently in the process of being made.
Aguero will have offers from around the world, including Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, but his preference is to stick to the Premier League as he believes he still has a lot to give in this country.
Chelsea are looking to sign Aguero in 2011 when he plays for Atletico Madrid and they are one of the few clubs to have paid the more than £ 13 million he earned at City.
Aguero does not want to spoil his relationship with City supporters by joining Manchester United and Liverpool are now more focused on bringing in a center-back next summer.
Chelsea are determined to bring strength up front after new signing Timo Werner is still having trouble adapting to England after being brought in from RB Leipzig.
City will try to find a replacement for Aguero in the upcoming transfer market. They remain interested in Erling Halaand of Borussia Dortmund, whose agent has recently held talks with Barcelona and Madrid.
