Astra Assistance To Prevent The Spread Of COVID-19
JAKARTA - PT Astra International Tbk, through Nurani Astra, provided initial assistance worth IDR 63 billion to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Astra handed over assistance in the form of personal protective equipment, masks, hazmat and COVID-19 rapid tests to the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB).
Assistance in the form of 3,000 N95 masks, 15,000 surgical masks, 1,500 hazmat coveralls and 1,000 COVID-19 rapid tests was handed over by Astra Deputy Chief of Corporate Affairs Riza Deliansyah to BNPB Head Doni Monardo.
"With this assistance from Astra, BNPB can evenly distribute the aid to various regions in Indonesia that still lack COVID-19 prevention tools," said Doni Monardo in a statement received by VOI, Tuesday, March 31.
Meanwhile, Riza said, gradually, his party had handed over initial assistance to various parties to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
"We hope this assistance can contribute to preventing the spread of this epidemic, so that it can ease the burden on the community and government," said Riza.
In addition to BNPB, Astra has delivered aid in the form of tools to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, the Friendship Center General Hospital, the Association of Indonesian Lung Doctors, the Association of Indonesian Hospitals, and hand sanitizers to the East Java Provincial Government.
Astra also donated 100 units of Daihatsu Gran Max Pick Up, 10 units of trucks (five units of Toyota Dyna and five units of Isuzu Elf NMR71) to the Indonesian Red Cross which will be used as vehicles for spraying disinfectants.
Astra has also provided assistance worth Rp. 40 billion to a foundation that accommodates and manages assistance from corporate groups in Indonesia. The assistance has been distributed to 185 hospitals and health centers as well as 13 institutions in the form of tools to prevent the spread of COVID-19 such as masks, COVID-19 rapid tests, and personal protective equipment.
Astra has also provided assistance in the form of tools to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to 21 Astra Serial Villages in Jabodetabek.
