Menpora: Indonesia Ready To Host The 2036 Olympics
JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Dito Ariotedjo, stated that Indonesia is very capable of hosting the 2036 Olympics.
"Anyway, sports venues in Indonesia have spread. I feel for the Olympic level, if it's serious, we can definitely do it," said Dito at the Kemenpora Office, Jakarta.
Indonesia received an offer to host the 2036 Olympics when President-elect Prabowo Subianto met with the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach, during the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The meeting discussed the potential and opportunities for Indonesia to host the most prestigious series of four-year sporting events.

In addition to offering the Olympics, Thomas Bach also opened up the possibility for Indonesia to host the 2034 Youth Olympic Games.
Dito said that all this time only Bali and Jakarta might be the location of the event. However, it is possible for other regions.
"We see that Indonesia should be ready and there are options, such as Jakarta and Bali. However, Jakabaring and North Sumatra can be ready too," said Dito.
The next Olympics in 2028 will take place in Los Angeles, United States. Four years later it will be held in Brisbane, Australia.
