Residents Of Pertamina Indramayu Refinery Fire Victims Asking For Compensation Of IDR 20 Million
INDRAMAYU - Residents around the location of the Pertamina Balongan refinery fire, Indramayu Regency, West Java, are asking for compensation of IDR 20 million per person. The residents felt very aggrieved by the incident.
"We ask for compensation of Rp20 million per head," said a resident from Sukaurip Village Tongamin during an audience with Pertamina and the Indramayu Regency Government in Indramayu, quoted by Antara, Friday, April 2.
According to him, the compensation was deemed sufficient for residents who were affected by the fire and explosion of the Pertamina Balongan refinery tank.
He said the compensation looked big, but when compared to what happened to the residents, it was certainly not comparable. Because until now, many are still traumatized.
In fact, when they heard the sound alone, the residents were still afraid. For this reason, he hopes that Pertamina can provide compensation as requested.
"The building problem is not too serious, but for our mental state," he said.
Another resident whose house is only 500 meters from the location of the incident, Edi Sutrisno asked Pertamina to be more sensitive to local residents. Moreover, he is currently a victim of fire and tank explosion at Pertamina Balongan Refinery.
"We are in ring one, the explosion is right in front of our eyes. So, we ask Pertamina's policy to the residents in ring one," he said.
Meanwhile, Unit Manager for Commrel & CSR Pertamina RU VI Balongan Indramayu Cecep Supriyatna said that currently his party can only accommodate the aspirations of residents. "We cannot decide anything this time. Because, I only accommodate the aspirations of the community," said Cecep.
