Students In Bogor Have Snatched Their Cellphones 7 Times Due To Stomach Affairs, The Last Victim Is Mrs. Gendong Balita

Bogor City Police, West Java Police, arrested a student with the initials EP (23), who had snatched cellphones seven times and caused victims to lose millions of rupiah.

Bogor City Deputy Chief of Police AKBP Guntur M. Tariq said the perpetrators carried out a mugging because of economic motives.

The stolen phones, said Guntur, sold for hundreds of thousands of rupiah with a cash on delivery system. In total, the victim's loss reached Rp. 10 million.

"So the perpetrators stalked the victims like hunting at random. When he saw that the victim's position was off guard, a mugging was immediately carried out," he explained at a press conference in Bogor City, Antara, Thursday, October 3.

Guntur said the perpetrators last took action on Tuesday, October 1 in Tajur Village. At that time, the perpetrator snatched a cellphone belonging to a mother who was holding a baby.

"Within less than 1x24 hours, the perpetrator was arrested and it turned out that the perpetrators carried out their actions at seven crime scenes to meet personal needs," he said.

In addition to arresting the perpetrators, the police also confiscated a number of pieces of evidence, one of which was the perpetrator's two-wheeled vehicle. East Bogor Police Chief Kompol Fajar said the motorbike was still in installments and had only been paid once by the perpetrator.

"So maybe the demands to pay these and those, pay for the tuition fees too. So it's just economic demands," he said.

As a result of his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 365 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of nine years. The Bogor City Police also appealed to the public to remain vigilant and take care of themselves, especially when using cellphones in public places.
