The Son Of The Former Governor Of East Kalimantan Was Questioned By The KPK Regarding The Issuance Of A Mining Business License

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has examined the son of former East Kalimantan Governor Awang Faroek Ishak, Dayang Donna Walfiares Tania as a witness on Wednesday, October 2. He was questioned by investigators regarding allegations of corruption related to mining business permits (IUP).

"The DDWT witness was investigated regarding his role in granting IUP permits and extensions," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters in a written statement, Thursday, September 3.

Tessa said this material was also investigated by investigators to the witness with the initials ZI. However, he did not elaborate further on the examination.

The witness in question is Zakaria Iban, who is a state civil servant (ASN).

Actually, the anti-corruption commission will also examine other witnesses. They are Awang Faroek Ishak and Rudy Ong Chandra.

However, both of them did not attend and asked to reschedule the examination. Rudy Ong Chandra is known to be a Commissioner of PT Sepiak Jaya Kaltim; PT Cahaya Bara East Kalimantan; PT Bunga Jadi Lestari; PT Anugerah Pancaran Bulan; and shareholders of 5 percent PT Tara Indonusa Coal.

Previously reported, the KPK is investigating allegations of corruption related to mining business permits (IUP) in East Kalimantan. The investigation was carried out since 19 September.

In this case, three suspects have been named. The KPK has also searched a number of locations in East Kalimantan, including the house of former East Kalimantan Governor Awang Faroek Ishak.

In addition, the anti-corruption commission has also asked the Directorate General of Immigration to prevent three people from leaving the country for six months. They are Awang Faroek Ishak and his son, Payang Donna Walfiares Tania or Payang Donna Faroek.
