The Cathedral Church Urges Congregations Not To Bring Excessive Items, Prevent Queues When Entering
JAKARTA - Public Relations of the Jakarta Cathedral Church, Susiana Suwandie, asked the congregation who attended the tri holy day celebration, especially Good Friday, not to carry excessive items. This is in line with the appeal that has been conveyed by Polda Metro Jaya.
"We also appeal to sending texts to all of the congregation who will attend not to carry excessive items," Susiana told reporters at the Jakarta Cathedral Church, Friday, April 2.
This appeal is also intended so that there are no queues when the service will be held. "So, only in moderation that needs to be used during mass or during worship," he said.
"Because it has also been prepared by the machine apparatus for X-Ray checking," added Susiana.
Based on VOI's observation, a number of congregants continue to arrive at the Jakarta Cathedral Church and enter through the Gate of Wisdom IV. Most of them only carry a small bag.
Before entering, they were checked the temperature first. Furthermore, they are required to put the bag or luggage they carry into the X-Ray for a thorough inspection.
Security on site also continues. Combined members of the Indonesian National Police continued to guard in front of the church, complete in a romantic car.
The Cathedral Church only provides 309 seats for the congregation or 20 percent of the church capacity. This was done in order to follow the rules for preventing transmission of COVID-19.
Congregations must also register themselves first on the website of the Jakarta Archdiocese. As for the series of Good Friday worship events today, two sessions will be held, namely 15.00 WIB and 18.00 WIB.
