Israel Sends More Troops To Lebanon Selatna Despite Claiming Limited Operations
JAKARTA - The Israeli military sent additional divisions to join the land war in southern Lebanon.
The number of Israeli military units is kept secret, but one division usually consists of about 10,000 troops.
The large number of troops added despite Israel claiming its operations in Lebanon were limited, localized, and targeted.
Reported by CNN, Wednesday, October 2, Israel's Defense Forces (IDF) ordered Lebanese civilians in dozens of villages to flee their homes and move north of the Awali River, which is about 30 miles north of the border with Israel.
The military said the IDF 36th Division and additional troops joined its operations targeting Iran-backed Hezbollah.
The division includes soldiers from the Golani Brigade, the 188th Armored Brigade, and the 6th Infantry Brigade, the IDF said. They were accompanied by the Israeli Air Force and the 282nd Artillery Brigade.
The military last month moved the 98th elite division from Gaza to northern Israel.
